Lafa Multi-channel Low-NOx Burners

Lafa multi-channel low-NOx burners are core calcining equipment specially developed for new dry-process cement production lines. They are designed to solve common industry pain points of conventional burners, including high energy consumption, disordered flame, rapid wear and excessive NOx emissions, and support continuous production under full working conditions, multiple fuels and high load.

Burner Nozzle Design

Central Air Channel:Stabilizes flame root, cools nozzle tip and prevents coking blockage.
Inner Swirl Air Channel:Creates strong vortex to fully mix coal powder and air for complete combustion.
Coal Air Channel:Transports pulverized coal evenly into combustion zone.
Gas Channel:Delivers natural gas, industrial by-product gas and other gaseous fuels.
Outer Swirl Air Channel:Strengthens mixing effect, lowers local high temperature to reduce NOx.
Axial Flow Air Channel:Controls flame length and rigidity, avoids scattered or offset flame.

Burner Working Principle

The burner applies multi-channel staged air distribution and high-speed vortex mixing combustion technology. It has four independently adjustable air passages: central air, coal air, swirl air and axial air, enabling fast air-coal mixing and low-temperature combustion for energy saving, stable kiln operation and low NOx output.

High-speed swirl air disperses coal powder for full combustion. Axial air regulates flame shape to prevent abnormal flames, while central air anchors the flame root and shields the nozzle from high-temperature damage.
Staged air distribution removes hot spots to reduce peak temperature and thermal NOx. With thorough mixing, complete burnout and flexible flame control, it maintains steady clinker quality, continuous production, lower coal usage and exhaust emissions.

Coordinated Air Duct Combustion Mechanism

The unit consists of four independent air channels: central air, coal powder air, swirl air and axial air, with adjustable parameters for each channel. High-speed swirl air fully disperses coal particles to boost mixing with high-temperature secondary air and greatly improve coal burnout rate. Axial air precisely controls flame length and rigidity to prevent soft, scattered and offset flames. Central air stabilizes the flame root and continuously protects the nozzle head from high-temperature ablation.

Low-Temperature Low-NOₓ Combustion Principle

Staged air distribution breaks up local high-temperature zones, lowers peak combustion temperature and restrains thermal NOx formation.

The whole system delivers rapid mixing, complete burnout, low-temperature NOx control and adjustable flame. It stabilizes clinker quality, ensures consistent continuous production, and effectively cuts coal consumption and flue gas emissions.

Maintenance Cleaning Guide

Standardized full O&M procedures covering daily inspection, regular cleaning, periodic maintenance and shutdown protection. Easy to implement, effectively extending service life of equipment and ensuring stable kiln line operation.

Routine Daily Maintenance

Monitor operational parameters including flame profile, air pressure and air volume daily, and identify abnormalities such as skewed flame, backfire, air leakage and smoke emission.Periodically check the flexibility of seals, control valves and movable mechanisms, and tighten loose components promptly to maintain steady equipment operation.

Regular Cleaning Work

Remove coke deposits and dust from nozzle tips, air duct inlets and flame stabilizers every 7–15 days to prevent nozzle clogging and turbulent airflow. Clear accumulated dust inside all air ducts thoroughly every month to ensure homogeneous mixing of air and pulverized coal.

Periodic Overhaul & Servicing

Conduct comprehensive shutdown overhaul every 3–6 months. Inspect wear levels of consumable parts like nozzles and wear-resistant liners, and replace deteriorated spare parts in a timely manner. Calibrate air supply systems and flame parameters, optimize air-coal ratio, and restore the burner’s optimal combustion performance.

Protection for Long-term Shutdown

Fully clean dust and residual coke inside air ducts and nozzles before long-term shutdown. Implement anti-rust and dustproof treatments, seal nozzle outlets and pipeline joints, and store the unit in a dry and ventilated area. Avoid corrosion from dampness and dust blockage to guarantee stable restart performance.

What kiln capacities can your burners fit? Are they compatible with overseas old kiln revamps?

Our burners suit all 2000t/d–12000t/d dry-process cement kilns. They fully match mainstream kiln brands including FLSmidth, Fives, KHD, Sinoma and CITIC. Revamp projects require minimal civil modification without large-scale reconstruction of kiln head casting foundations, applicable for both new and existing production lines.

Besides pulverized coal, what alternative fuels can the burner use?

It supports mixed combustion of coal petcoke, natural gas, heavy oil, biomass and RDF waste fuels. Custom air channel structures are available based on local low-cost waste materials to greatly cut coal consumption cost.

What NOₓ emission level can the burner achieve? Is denitrification equipment mandatory?

Custom low-NOₓ solutions ranging from 80 to 300mg/Nm³ are available. With staged combustion and flue gas recirculation low-temperature technology, it meets emission standards for most developing countries without extra denitrification equipment. For strict EU standards, it sharply reduces investment on SCR/SNCR systems.

Will low-temperature low-NOₓ combustion reduce clinker output and quality?

The uniform, mild flame eliminates overheating hotspots and stabilizes sintering zone temperature without compromising clinker strength or output. It also lowers erosion on refractory bricks to extend lining service life.

What’s the lead time for burners and spare parts? Are complete export documents supplied?

Standard burners take 20–35 days for production, while key wear spares are in stock. Full documents including certificate of origin, material test reports, CE & ISO certificates, English drawings and operation manuals are provided to support smooth customs clearance.

What overall cost advantages do you have compared with European & American imported burners?

Our price is only 50%–70% of Western brands. Wear parts last twice as long, and the low primary air ratio cuts long-term fan power consumption. Fast spare part delivery minimizes shutdown loss for lower total lifecycle cost.

What is the service life of the nozzle? Is it prone to wear, coking or thermal cracking?

Nozzles adopt high-chromium alloy with thermal spray coating, serving 8–16 months under normal working conditions. Anti-coking guide structure and independent cooling air channels fundamentally avoid abrasion, coke buildup and high-temperature cracking.

Is daily maintenance complicated? How often is full overhaul required?

Standardized, easy-to-implement O&M procedures: daily parameter monitoring, coke cleaning every 7–15 days and full shutdown overhaul every 3–6 months. Complete English maintenance manuals plus online & on-site operator training are offered.

Can you send engineers overseas for on-site commissioning?

We dispatch professional engineers to Southeast Asia, Central Asia, Africa, the Middle East for installation guidance, kiln heating, ignition commissioning and fuel optimization. Chinese & English remote flame adjustment support is available.

Do you only sell single burners, or full kiln head thermal systems?

One-stop full package supply is available, including rotary kiln burners, calciner burners, fuel pipelines, primary air fans, control cabinets and ignition systems. It fits all EPC projects and avoids complicated coordination with multiple suppliers.
